Exercise 10, page 7. The opening of a new building. Good morning, everyone. Thank you for being here with us this sunny morning! I am glad to open our new family restaurant with all of you today! This is a brand new restaurant in the centre of Rivne, that will astonish you with a modern design, delicious cuisine and a professional staff. We hope you will have a great time at our opening party. Exercise 5, page 7. Margaret Thatcher, Great Britain's first woman prime minister, was born in 1925. Thatcher served longer than any other British prime minister in the 20th century. She initiated social and economic changes in many aspects of Britain's postwar state. She was famous for her 'strong arm' policy. Margaret Thatcher studied chemistry at Oxford and later became a lawyer. She was elected to Parliament as a Conservative in 1959. In 1970 she became Secretary of State for education and science. The Conservative party elected her its first woman leader in 1975. Thatcher led the Conservatives to an electoral victory in 1979 and became prime minister. Thatcher tried to reduce the influence of the trade unions and fight inflation. Her economic policy rested on changes along free-market lines. She reduced government spending and taxes for higher-income individuals. In 1982, when Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands, a British colony, Britain started a war which was successful. Thatcher's government privatized national industries, including British Gas and British Telecommunications. Her policies forced coal miners to return to work after a year on strike. In foreign affairs, Thatcher was an ally of President Ronald Reagan and opposed the Communist countries. She allowed the United States to station (1980) nuclear cruise missiles in Britain and to use its air bases to bomb Libya. In 1987 Thatcher led the Conservatives to a third electoral victory. She proposed free-market changes to the national health and education systems and introduced a new tax to pay for local government. After that, she was criticized for having no compassion for the poor. Thatcher refused to support a common European currency and integrated economic policies. She resigned as prime minister, and John Major became her successor. In 1992 Thatcher left the House of Commons and became Baroness Thatcher. Kalinichenko - WELL DONE!Kalinichenko - WELL DONE!

ПКІМ Exercise 10, page 7 The opening of a new building Dear residents of the city and everyone present at this festive event!!! Every year we try to somehow improve our native place. Every day, the craftsman creates incredible works and buildings. Our town gradually turns into an urbanized city with all the benefits of civilization. However homeless animals still remain dissatisfied. So today we solemnly present you a shelter for small friends. Here they will be able to feel needed. It is for this purpose that the necessary conditions are created here:food, care, housing. The first one to enter this institution is the right girl who is proud of the whole city. She sacrificed her life for the sake of a younger brother, while losing one's hand. Please, Julia. Martin Luther King was born on the fifteenth January 1929 in the state of Georgia. This is an American Baptist preacher and leader of the civil rights movement of the 1960-s years, a spokesman for tactics of non-violence in the fight against racism. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 year. Interesting facts about King:1)His speech "I have a dream" is listened to more than three hundred thousand Americans. 2) Martin's boom was installed in Washington- a dark-skinned American was honored for the first time. 3) 2305-King - an asteroid, named in honor of the figure. Martin Luther King was wounded by a sniper when he stood on the balcony and died from the wounds in the hospital 4 April 1968 year. Kalinichenko - WELL DONE!

Born: May 29, 1917
Brookline, Massachusetts
Died: November 22, 1963
Dallas, Texas American president John F. Kennedy was the thirty-fifth president of the United States. He was the first president to reach for the moon, through the nation's space programs. He also was the first president since Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919) with whom youth could identify. He made the nation see itself with new eyes. His assassination shocked the world. Kennedy's time in office was marked by high tensions with communist states in the Cold War. He increased the number of American military advisers in South Vietnam by a factor of 18 over President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In April 1961, he authorized a failed joint-CIA attempt to overthrow the Cuban government of Fidel Castro in the Bay of Pigs Invasion.[2] He subsequently rejected Operation Northwoods plans by the Joint Chiefs of Staff to orchestrate false flag attacks on American soil in order to gain public approval for a war against Cuba. In October 1962, U.S. spy planes discovered that Soviet missile bases had been deployed in Cuba; the resulting period of tensions, termed the Cuban Missile Crisis, nearly resulted in the breakout of a global thermonuclear conflict. Domestically, Kennedy presided over the establishment of the Peace Corps and supported the civil rights movement, but he was largely unsuccessful in passing his New Frontier domestic policies. Role Play 1. I think, that English is the best for travel. Because, 1)if you want to go abroad you need to know the language, because there people people freely communicate in English 2)Find out about culture and traditions directly from locals, not from guides. 3)focus on the terrain. You will not be afraid to get lost when you go for a walk. By knowing the language, you can always ask the road or read the pointer. For job: 1)get a better paid job. Now almost every financially attractive vacancy involves proficiency in English. Knowing the language, you will be able to get to the international company 2)you will be able to negotiate with foreign partners, enter into business agreements For science: 1)science is moving forward and there is plenty of English and there is nowhere to go 2)There are many scholars from England, whose works is to be read and translated And the last, for love: 1)If you are in love with a foreigner, you must know the language to understand him

John graduated from Harvard University. During World War II, he commanded a series of PT boats in the Pacific theater. After the war, Kennedy started his political career, representing the 11th congressional district of Massachusetts from 1947 to 1953 and the U.S. Senate before becoming president. Role PLay 1) I think knowing English is best for a job. Because of 3 reasons: - First of all, you can work abroad and get a lot of experience there and then improve quality of your work. It gives you more possibilities to recieve higher wages in future. - Secondly, if you know English well you'll be able to read different magazines, articles and books related to your proffesion. It can help you to get some advice from the most skilled people in your sphere. - Thirdly, you'll become more and more valuable worker. 2) I think English is best for science too. - A lot of science articles and researches are made in English and it's very important, especially for scientists, to be aware of them. - English is helping to collaborate between scientists and move science forward, so it has a great impact on our lives. - Since English is one of the most popular languages in the world, so it can helps to spread the science ideas in the world and improve education of kids all over the globe. 3) Knowing English for travelling gives you some advantages. - Firstly, you can meet English speaking people in almost every part of the world. It'l help you to speak the same language - Secondly, if you're travelling alone and you don't know English it'll be difficult to get by. - Thirdly, English can help you to make new friends from other countries. Also, you can collaborate with foreigners and trevel somewhere toghether. 4) Personally, I don't think that knowing English is best for love. - You can fall in love with person from you country. - But if you had felt in love with foreigner, it would be a great motivation to become fluent in this language. Ex 10 p 7 It's honor to be awarded for this achievment. It was the first successful expedition dedicated to finding alien life in our universe! We went through hard times. About 7 hard years we tried to find and investigate alien life. And even when millions of people were saying that our team is doomed to lose we carried it off! We believed, we worked without dayoffs, we impoved our space ships, so now it's the most sophisticated shatles in the world! This award is not the finish line, it's the start point in our investigation of universe that we live in. Martin Luther King ( 1929-1968 ) Was an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader.he led an unsuccessful struggle against segregation and helped organize the nonviolent protests in 1963. He won the Noble Prize (1964) for combating racial inequality through nonviolent resistance. King was planning a national occupation of Washington, D.C., to be called the Poor People's Campaign, when he was assassinated.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day was established as a holiday in numerous cities and states beginning in 1971; the holiday was enacted at the federal level by legislation signed by President Ronald Reagan. Hundreds of streets in the U.S. have been renamed in his honor.

Role play I think knowing English is best for a job. -First is the best way to earn money. -At job we will be more demanding and we will develop better. - Only at job you can uncover and show all your skills. Least useful knowing English is in science, love and travel, because you can not fully realize them in our time
